Lucas and Arthur Jussen are among the most sought-after piano duos of our time and the Netherlands’ pre-eminent ambassadors for classical music. Born in 1993 and 1996 respectively, the brothers are praised for their energetic, almost symbiotic playing, refinement of sound and gripping interpretations.

‘It is like driving a pair of BMWs’, remarked conductor Michael Schønwandt after directing them in concert.

The brothers regularly perform with leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. Their artistic partners include conductors Iván Fischer, Susanna Mälkki, Andris Nelsons and Jaap van Zweden.

Following acclaimed appearances at the Rheingau Musik Festival and the Festival de La Roque d’Anthéron, and their celebrated debut at the BBC Proms, their 2026/27 season includes a tour of Australia, a Carnegie Hall debut with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the world premiere of a double concerto by Magnus Lindberg, composed especially for them.

Their programme shows off the full range of colours that two pianos can provide, from Bach chorale preludes and Brahms’s Haydn Variations to Lutosławski’s Paganini Variations, Fauré’s Dolly Suite and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
