£10 adults, £2 under 18sSt Luke’s Church makes an ideal concert venue, with its generous proportions creating an excellent acoustic for music. There is on-site parking with designated disabled spaces and easy access into the Church. For those that don’t know St Luke’s, its tall spire is visible the length of Victoria Road and further afield in the Chesterton area of Cambridge.
St Luke’s is a Victorian building which has been extensively updated. It was built in 1884 to serve the rather rural area of ‘New Chesterton’, which was at that time surrounded by fields, allotments and orchards all the way out to Histon. St Luke’s continued to serve the rapidly developing area as the separate new parish of St Luke’s Chesterton. In 1982 St Luke’s Chesterton joined the neighbouring parish of St Giles’ Cambridge and the Parish of the Ascension was formed.
