The theatrical jewel in the DDS crown is its annual 'A Festival of New Writing', established in 2014 and it is now a central and extremely prestigious feature of the Cambridge drama scene; and its back again this year!
Students of all disciplines and from every Cambridge college submit one-act plays and nine are chosen to be performed over the three nights of the Festival. At the end of each evening, the playwrights are invited to join a panel of top theatre practitioners to discuss their work-in-progress and take questions from the audience. Everyone plays a part.
'A Festival of New Writing' is a brilliant way to experience original, entertaining and highly relevant student written theatre in the beautiful Howard Theatre in Downing College. So don't miss out on an evening that brings both a dramatic spectacle and a unique learning experience together for an entertaining night of Cambridge theatre.
