The Dutch-born brothers, Lucas and Arthur Jussen, have established reputations as being preeminent among the finest pianists of their generation, both individually as soloists, and in the extensive repertory for piano duo. Their talents were early recognized by Deutsche Grammophon – one of music’s most prestigious labels – which gave them an exclusive contract in 2010, when both Jussen brothers were still in their ’teens. Their recordings for the label have been hugely successful, with their debut Beethoven disc going platinum, and subsequent recordings receiving gold status.
They make their debut for Camerata Musica in a programme covering two of the greatest works for two pianos by Mozart and Schubert, followed by the thrilling two-pianos version of Stravinsky’s orchestral ballet, The Rite of Spring — a work that provoked a riot at its first performance in Paris in 1913.
