IMS Prussia Cove Autumn Tour

Brahms, Fauré, Turnage, Wiancko

Tickets are no longer on sale online, but you can buy tickets at West Road just before the show begins.

IMS Prussia Cove brings musicians from across the world to study, rehearse and perform together in Cornwall. In September each year, some of this generation’s most talented young artists are invited to travel to a remote stretch of the Cornish coast to work in chamber groups with IMS alumni, who more often than not include international soloists, leaders of the world’s great orchestras and acclaimed chamber musicians.

The young learn from the older and the older gain insight from the young, creating a living connection to the great musicians of the past. Both young and old take time out of busy schedules to immerse themselves in a unique environment – a sanctuary of sorts – dedicated not only to artistic excellence but also musical ideals of freedom and integrity that allow performers to truly speak to audiences from the heart.

The Autumn Tour offers audiences a rare insight into this work, bringing a group of musicians hand-picked by IMS Prussia Cove’s Artistic Director Steven Isserlis to stages across the south of England.

This year features violinist Arisa Fujita (Fujita Piano Trio, Gémeaux Quartett, professor at The Hague Royal Conservatoire), rising star violist Alinka Rowe, cellist Vladimir Waltham (Linos Piano Trio, principal cello at La Serenissima), acclaimed pianist Alasdair Beatson (who has recently appeared with Britten Sinfonia, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Nash ensemble, among others, professor at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire), and former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Alec Frank-Gemmill (principal horn Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra).
