Sun 22 April
Sampson Orchestra

Capriccio Italien

The Sampson Orchestra are presenting an uplifting programme of Italian themed musical favourites. These range from Berlioz’s exciting Carnival Romain through Arban’s virtuosic Carnival in Venice with brilliant solo trumpet Matilda Lloyd. In October 2017, Matilda won the inaugural Eric Aubier International Trumpet Competition in Rouen and had her Proms debut in 2016. We are also performing Respighi’s magnificent Fountains of Rome and popular works by Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Rossini and Pandieros.
