In their first concert of the new season, the Sinfonia of Cambridge celebrate the music of Robert Schumann. His overture to the opera 'Genoveva' precedes the Piano Concerto in A minor, with the outstanding young pianist John Reid as soloist. The jubilant Second Symphony, with its romanticism underpinned by Schumann's debt to Beethoven, completes the programme.
