Cambridge Operatic Society

The Magic Flute

W.A. Mozart, English translation by Jeremy Sams

Cambridge Operatic Society is proud to present Mozart’s much-loved opera in two concert performances on 14 and 15 September 2013 at Emmanuel United Reformed Church, Trumpington Street, Cambridge.

Following the story of Tamino, a prince, and his companion Papageno, as they seek to rescue Pamina, daughter of the Queen of the Night from Sorastro and his temple court, the opera weaves some of Mozart’s finest and best-known arias into a tale that has been entrancing audiences since 1791.

Sung by some of the finest opera singers in the region, with a witty, modern translation by Jeremy Sams and to the accompaniment of the award-winning reduced score by Jonathan Lyness, these concerts are guaranteed to delight opera audiences both old and new.
