Cambridge Summer Recitals presentsThe Bryna Ensemble
1196
Sunday 20th May, Emmanuel United Reformed Church
£13, £11 OAPs, £6 children/students
The Bryna Ensemble, formed at the Royal Academy of Music, explores the unusual repertoire of the wind, brass and piano quintet, and showcases the great talent of British female players. Concerto soloists, orchestral players and recitalists they have won many awards; as an ensemble they shine.
Here they play two wonderful works for the combination – Mozart’s Quintet in E flat major K452, regarded by Mozart in a letter to his father as one of the best he ever wrote, and the work that inspired Holst in his striking and symphonic Quintet in A minor Op 3.
